Lissummon Tunnel Late last night I paid a visit to Ireland’s longest railway tunnel at nearly a mile long. Lissummon tunnel was built in the mid 1800’s and now lies abandoned. The tunnel is completely pitch black and I have to say it was probably the creepiest location I’ve visited to date.

The Aviation society house many rare air craft including a Phantom Jet but let’s not forget it’s also home to Wessex and Puma Helicopters that seen service operating from RAF Aldergrove to Bessbrook Barracks. Visits can be made by appointment and I highly recommended it for a family day out.
